One Last Batch

Working down the chimney the end is in sight.
Mixing the last batch for the scratch coat

Fastening the last of the mesh

Top Down

The Top of the flue liner is in and the wash is on.
Scratch coat going on right now. Take a look at the progress so far today.

A Great day to get underway again!

A sunny beautiful morning.
Craig called on friday to let us know he'll be here today and with good weather be done by Wednesday.
I expect they will be here soon.

Here's what it looks like now. No work done last week as I was away Monday thru Thursday. No work Friday for fear of pending storm Saturday.

Done for the Day

Damaged liner removed.
Just one small section to screen left.
Tomorrow: Replace flue liner, finish screen and do scratch coat.
Some of the existing flashing isn't on too well so that may need to be addressed.

Good Progress!

They are still working but I thought I'd post some pictures of the progress so far today.
They didn't stop for lunch so we made some sandwiches which they ate while catching up with some other business on the phone.

The loose stucco is off now and the screening is near complete.
They hope to still put on the scratch coat today so they can do a finish coat tomorrow. It will have a sponged on finish to match the house.

Good Progress

Rain...

Another rain day.
Craig and Ed did come but it is just too wet.
Yesterday was nice but their truck didn't cooperate - new tire and belts should keep it on the road now.

We spent some time discussing the fire place and flue pipes - it has two 12" flues.

So the plan is to aim for an early start tomorrow and hopefully get to the scratch coat.

Here's a blurry shot of the materials and tools waiting in the garage - staying dry.
